Royal Enfield Himalayan Accessory Review
Royal Enfield Himalayan after riding up about 2000' in elevation.

The holidays have left us. We are now into the doldrums and there are deals out there. Like always, if you would like to watch instead of read, click here! In fact, if you haven't already subscribed to my YouTube channel, I invite you here.

If you have someone in your life, perhaps you, that has a Royal Enfield Himalayan, or any other type of adventure bike, Take a look at the video above, or, just keep reading.

I ran across some accessories designed for protecting the components of my motorcycle from rocks since I had recently run across the rocks.

Here is my disclaimer: In my opinion, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is an entry level bike as far as pricing goes. Don't get me wrong, that by no means yields results that are not super fun. It does mean that it is on the lower end of the cost spectrum for an adventure motorcycle. The range starts at just below $5,000 with a Yamaha TW 200 up to over $25,000 with the BMW R1200 GS Adventure. So, the components I am picking, testing and recommending (if they pass muster) are the cost structure proportional to the bike.

Many of these kits available cost the same as a single component on some websites. No, they are not stainless steel or brushed aluminum. BUT, nothing on the Himalayan is either!

Kit That is Very Simliar to Mine

Headlight cover, oil cooler cover, front and rear brake cylinder covers.

Since, I have ridden across rocks within the first week of owning my adventure bike, I thought it just might be a great idea to get some. In this article and corresponding video, I Both install and provide my thoughts on these.

Motorcycle accessories are a huge category for gifts during the holidays. Its a chance for the motorcycle enthusiast to to acquire goodies for their motorcycle without feeling like they are neglecting something else important... like food, utility bills or shoes for the kids!

The kit I got that is no longer available. It had the following components:

  1. Headlight Guard
  2. Oil Cooler Guard
  3. Rear Master Cylinder Cover
  4. and Rear Brake Fluid Reservoir Cover

Right side with accessories: Headlight guard, Rear master cylinder and brake fluid reservoir cover.
Left side with accessories; Oil cooler cover.

Here are the positive thoughts after install and use:

  1. The weight of the package was much more than anticipated. I was expecting paper thin metal.
  2. The products fit well and were easy to install without instructions (provided or needed)
  3. After riding on trails, they held up with no issues.

Here is the only real concern I had!

  1. I did not like the design of the headlight. Thankfully, the style I got is no longer available. I assume the sellers got negative feedback and redesigned them. Mine had a very short arm to attach to the body that prevented it from being adjustable. So, it did not really cover the headlight like I would have preferred. So, choose a kit with a long arm at least, and two bolts if possible.

I mentioned above that there are several combinations of kits available. I am going to list a few out that I would get excited about having.

Another Similar Option

This one is my kit plus handlebar risers that I just spent $35 on!🤦🏻‍♂️

This kit has exactly what I got, with a different connector for the headlight and handlebar risers that I just spent $35 by themselves. Hindsight, right?

Many more options

Hand guards, Engine guard, Oil cooler cover, Master cylinder cover, Oil filler cap, Waterproof motorcycle cover.

This one is a little pricier, but has engine guards and hand guards which are expensive individually. Still a great deal for everything included. When I bought my kit, I already had the engine guards and hand guards.

This kit includes:

  1. Hand guards
  2. Engine guards
  3. Oil filler cap
  4. Master cylinder guard
  5. Oil cooler guard
  6. and a Water proof motorcycle cover (Must-have with no garage!)

Kickstand foot is nice!

Headlight guard, Brake fluid reservoir cover, Oil Cooler cover, Disc brake cover, Side stand extender.

This kit has the front mud guard risers if riding in mud. So your wheel won't get clogged and bog down. Disc brake cover to again prevent the mud from gumming the works. A side stand extender that prevents the kickstand from sinking in the mud or sand and the bike falling over! (Next on my list). beyond what mine came with.

This kit includes:

  1. Front mud guard risers
  2. Headlight guard
  3. Brake fluid reservoir cover
  4. Disc brake fluid cover
  5. oil cooler cover
  6. Side stand extender

I just included a few similar for the Royal Enfield Himalayan. When browsing the site, I noticed there are options for many, MANY different types of adventure bikes. If someone has a motorcycle, there will be something for them!

Buyer's Guide and FAQs For Royal Enfield Himalayan

Is Royal Enfield Himalayan a good bike?

I'm looking for a bike to go offroading. There are several options to consider, all of which have different strengths and weaknesses. Some would be good for an on-road commute, while others would better suit the dirt roads that lead off into the forest. The Himalayan is best suited for an ADV bike and other mountain trails, but a Tourer might have more appeal because it's performance isn't limited to just one setting.

What is the disadvantage of Royal Enfield Himalayan?

Heft - The Himalayan is indeed one heavy bike, and the BS6 upgrade means that the bike now is 5 kgs heavier than older models. This is a disappointment to off-road enthusiasts who like to perform slides and jumps with the bike.

Is Himalayan available in USA?

RE is launching the new 2021 model on the bike. It has a whopping price tag of $4,999 which is comparable to previous models but has new features and improved design.

How fast can a Royal Enfield Himalayan go?

Royal Enfield Himalayan 411cc can reach cruising speed of 80 miles per hour (129 kmph). It will be put to even more tough tests to find its ultimate endurance limit.

Why is Himalayan so popular?

Even at its aggressive price point, the bike performs really well off-road, with the powerful engine helping you get out of difficult situations. The seat height is low and the ground clearance is 220mm. The suspension provides 200mm of travel in the front and 180 in the rear

Can Himalayan be used for daily use?

Yes, While the Himalayan might be a heavy-duty machine that can handle large amounts of traffic, it's not without its drawbacks. If you aren't ready to deal with even the smallest amount of traffic, then this isn't the bike for you.

Who can ride Himalayan bike?

The Himalayan is ergonomically perfect for someone who is 5'10 or above. But that doesn't mean short riders can't swing a leg over it. Its lowest-in-class seat height (800 mm) ensures that it is ergonomically friendly for even slightly shorter riders.

Final Thoughts on Himalayan Accessories

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is a great adventure motorcycle among a sea of other great bikes. There accessories for it are on the lower end of the cost spectrum which is part of the fun of the bike.

Anyone who buys any type of adventure motorcycle will accessorize it to make it fit their needs. From saddlebags to fuel management systems and exhaust to all the stuff needed for motocamping with their new motorcycle.
